YATO tools in Pakistan: what TOYA's half-year filing does to a YT-38941 quote, and my number for 5 November

Uzair bin Haroon

PLN 11 million.

That is the most YATO can be selling into Pakistan, and it is almost certainly a great deal less. TOYA S.A., the Wrocław company that owns the YATO name, filed its half-year report with the Warsaw exchange on 27 August, and the revenue-by-country table in it names Ukraine, Hungary, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India. Pakistan is not a row. Whatever arrives here sits inside an unnamed remainder of roughly PLN 11 million, two per cent of a group that turned over PLN 522.1 million in six months.

The same filing says where the sets come from. TOYA describes its business as "the distribution of goods whose main producers and suppliers are companies located in China", pays those suppliers "in USD and CNY", and consolidates everything through a high-bay warehouse at Jiaxing, between Shanghai and Ningbo-Zhoushan. Wrocław writes the drawing and does the inspection. Zhejiang does the forging.

So a YT-38941, the 224-piece case, is Chinese origin on the customs form, dollar-priced at source, and leaves Jiaxing when a consolidated load does, not when a Karachi workshop rings. Three things follow from that, and none of them is printed on the lid.

Lead time first. TOYA's one logistics warning is that Red Sea diversions add "around 2 weeks" to deliveries into Europe. Ningbo to Karachi never touches the Red Sea, so that fortnight is not ours. What is ours is the absence of stock. The group's big spend this year is a PLN 44.2 million deposit on a 58,000 square metre warehouse at Żabia Wola outside Warsaw, to shorten delivery times to Poland; no regional stock is named anywhere in Asia and there is no Pakistan distributor. That is why every YATO card on Vesprr Tools reads "Trade price on request" and carries no stock figure. Ask by part number and the date comes with the price.

The currency second. The złoty in TOYA's headline is TOYA's problem; the rupee against the dollar is yours. A YATO quote is a dollar number with rupees on the invoice, and on a shipment that takes a sailing plus a consolidation window, the validity date on that quote is worth more than a two per cent discount. Fix the rate date, or take the dollar price and carry the rupee yourself. Do not leave it open.

The warranty third. The reviews that made the brand, Darius Nastac's of the 216-piece YT-38841 among them, come from European garages, where a Polish warranty is a real thing. In Karachi it is the seller's warranty and nothing else. The question for whoever quotes you is not "is it guaranteed" but "who replaces the ratchet, from what stock, in how many days". Vesprr Tools lists 86 YATO part numbers, YT-38841 among them at 215 pieces, and that question is the one we should be judged on.

Whether any of this changes depends on one part of the filing, so here it is.

TOYA export revenue, January to June (PLN m)20252026
All exports157.5194.1
Africa11.315.4
South America11.413.8
Asia23.421.7
of which UAE4.33.2
of which Saudi Arabia1.61.3

Exports up 23 per cent. Every region grew except Asia, and inside Asia the two Gulf lines nearest to us both fell. The Chinese subsidiaries, the report says, are being pointed at the Gulf, Africa and South America by name. A company does not build regional stock in a market it does not list.

Which brings me to 5 November, the date on TOYA's own calendar for its third-quarter report. My call, and it is mine rather than TOYA's: the nine-month Asia line comes in below PLN 32 million, the UAE stays under its 2025 level, and Pakistan is not a named market, in that report or in the annual report next March. The chain is in the table above. Capital is going into a Polish warehouse, growth is going to Ukraine and Hungary, and Asia is the one region that shrank while the group grew 12.7 per cent. If the 5 November report names Pakistan or shows Asia above PLN 32 million, I was wrong and will say so here. Until then, buy YATO for what the filing says it is: a well-specified Chinese-made set with a Polish drawing behind it, priced in dollars, shipped on the next consolidation, and guaranteed by the person who sold it to you.
